Who Around You Needs Your Support to Shine?

Cheekily, I first posted this in alignment with the 2024 Christmas holidays and suggested that Rudolph was lacking in self-awareness and in leaders who were willing to take the time to notice his attributes.

But even without Rudolph as our guide to this principle, all Boss Leaders must:

• Take a look around you & notice who's in your orbit, especially those that report in to you, but don't limit it to that, look at your immediate network.
• Pay attention when people talk & when they don't. Get to know who people really are.
• Step in and help others shine. 

Everyone has unique value. At work, and in our social circles, too, we often see only superficial attributes, those that people feel comfortable showing or the traits that people bring with them & don't realize cast them in an unpleasant light.

The saddest thing is to observe teams and friendships where someone is hiding their light, where they don't feel confident enough to speak up, to show up, to spotlight their strengths and talents. 

Your role as a Boss Leader is to look for those people around you and notice where they could shine if only they had a bit of encouragement, training, mentorship, access, coaching, etc.  And then see how either you or someone you know can contribute to building that person up so that their value shines out.
